A statement on racial justice from our CEO

Our company is founded on the core principle that data rights are human rights. Over the past few weeks, we’ve collectively witnessed stark and painful moments that reinforce how far we as a society are from basic freedoms and human rights for all.

We stand in solidarity with the black community and all those who are working to create justice for George Floyd, Tony McDade, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, and countless others whose unjust deaths have created an important call to action.

Today, after meetings with our internal employee group – the Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DIB) council – we are taking a series of actions to affirm our commitment to change. To start, we are committing $10,000 to support work across the Equal Justice InitiativeElectronic Frontier Foundation and the NAACP to help further the work of the important organizations on the front lines. We are also committing to ongoing action, including listening and learning to help bring about real change.

To continue to drive us forward, our DIB council will be putting together a deeper plan of action with activities to further bolster our commitment, including actions around diversity recruitment, important events, workplace training, and candid conversations.

I see the devastating impact that racial injustice continues to have across our communities. It is centuries old, and I want us to be a part of the change. I welcome your feedback, and please join me in listening, learning, and committing to progress.
