Colorado Privacy Act compliance simplified
The Colorado Privacy Act (CPA) requires that businesses fulfill consumer privacy requests and provide clear options for opt-out of targeted advertising. Use Transcend to easily encode these privacy requirements directly into your data systems for seamless CPA compliance.
THE COLORADO PRIVACY ACT
What businesses need to know
The Colorado Privacy Act created new consumer data rights for Colorado residents, including the right to access, delete, correct, or transfer their data, as well as to opt-out of targeted advertising.
Effective July 1, 2023
The CPA goes into effect on July 1, 2023 and Colorado’s Attorney General (AG) or District Attorney (DA) will have exclusive right of enforcement. Violations of this act will be considered deceptive trade practices under the Colorado Consumer Protection Act.
New privacy rights for Colorado residents
Under the CPA, Colorado residents have the right to request access, deletion, correction, or transfer of their data, as well as to opt-out of targeted advertising. Companies looking to comprehensively honor these rights and remain in compliance need a scalable solution that’s customizable to the needs of their business.
Right to opt out
CPA gives residents the right to opt out of targeted advertisement, selling of personal data, and certain types of profiling. For full compliance, this means businesses need to honor preferences on both the client side and back-end data transfers.
PRIVACY REQUESTS
Easily fulfill consumer privacy requests
The Colorado Privacy Act requires that companies fulfill consumer requests for personal data access, deletion, correction, and transfer.
Transcend Privacy Requests is the easiest and most comprehensive way to delete, de-identify, return, or modify a user's data or preferences across your tech stack.
DO NOT SELL OR SHARE
Easily manage targeted advertising opt outs
CPA requires that companies provide their users the ability to opt out of the selling or sharing of their personal data–including data shared with most ad networks for targeted or cross-context behavioral advertising.
Transcend is the only platform that manages this end-to-end–from governing both client-side and backend data flows to enforcing end user preferences across ad tech platforms.
DATA MAPPING
See personal data, wherever it lives
Compliance with CPA requires a clear idea of how and why data is used and stored, as well as the ability to modify that data. Use Transcend Data Mapping to discover your company’s data silos, classify personal data, and auto-generate reports – all in an easy-to-use, collaborative platform.
ASSESSMENTS
Streamline assessment compliance
CPA requires a data privacy impact assessment (DPIA) when processing personal data that presents an increased risk of harm to consumers.
Transcend Assessments allows you to complete DPIAs faster with structured, out-of-the-box templates, pre-populated with data discovered from Silo Discovery, Content Classification scans, and CLI/Terraform inputs—reducing ambiguity and time intensive workflows.
COMPLIANCE WITHOUT COMPLEXITY
Engineered for simplicity, efficiency, and seamless compliance.
